Grand Lido Braco

Au Natural Trip Report

Grand Lido Braco was originally recommended by some good friends (along with Grand Lido Negril) but it was our travel agent who assisted us in our final selection of this all inclusive property. We have been to Jamaica before back in 1987 before starting our family. At that time we visited Couples Ocho Rios. We are both in our mid 40’s and both have interesting careers and kids at home. We are pretty green neophytes to the clothing optional nude lifestyle.

Travel Experience to Braco:

We arrived at Grand Lido Braco late Sunday afternoon, March 14th as our flight on Air Jamaica was cancelled out of Los Angeles International Airport to Montego Bay. We were re-routed the preceding evening through New York’s JFK via Delta Airlines and switched carriers back to Air Jamaica to Montego Bay, Jamaica. We arrived over 7 hours later than we had originally planned and lost out for a day in the sun. We used frequent flyer miles for First Class tickets but ended up flying economy to Jamaica. Needless to say, we were dead tired upon our arrival to Grand Lido Braco and made it an early night. My hubby will be on the phone with Air Jamaica to work out the travel glitches.

Our One Bedroom Suite on the Au Natural Side:

Our one bedroom suite was very beautiful. It was located on the A/.N side of the resort in the Block B building and located at the end on the second floor (Room 3037) over looking the beach, the bar and the nude pool. The room was freshly painted and the two bathroom which were nicely decorated. The front living room area enjoyed relatively new carpet. The suite was very clean and the housekeeping and turn down service during our stay was excellent. We were told by other guests that we were very lucky to get what many considered to be one of the finest rooms at Grand Lido Braco. My husband and I could not agree with them more. We must thank our travel agent Ann for requesting us this room.

Dining Experiences:

Our meals during our stay were "good to excellent". The French Restaurant was very romantic and our waiters and the captain did a splendid job. My husband dined on the beef tenderloin while I enjoyed the fresh Red Snapper. It was an excellent meal and the best dinner during our stay. Our next enjoyable meal was the Friday evening street party. I enjoyed the fresh barbequed lobster tails and my husband enjoyed the steak and jerk pork and chicken. It was on par to a very good Easter Brunch in the United States. The staff really did a superb job catering to all their Braco guests. The Japanese restaurant did a nice job presenting their tasty food combinations. The atmosphere was lively and fun and a nice evening dinner was enjoyed by everyone at our table. Finally, let me say that the daily barbeque buffet luncheons were excellent around the au natural pool and bar. The endless lamb chops, jerk chicken, hamburgers, fresh salads, veggies and desserts were outstanding! The morning breakfasts at Victoria Market and in the nude clubhouse were nice too. The Braco staff did an excellent job.

Braco Facilities:

The resort was very nice and their gardens were very beautiful. I am a beach person and found the au natural beach to be very good and much better that the other side of the resort. The snorkeling at the reef was not the best. The bottom of the nude pool and the large hot tub might be due for some retexturing or painting. The nude pool had new yellow floats and there seemed to be enough lounges around the pool. There always seemed to be the need for more towels for the beach and pool. But all in all, Braco is a great property. We agree that Grand Lido Braco deserves its travel rating of four stars.

Braco Staff and Activities:

We found the Grand Lido Braco staff to be both friendly and courteous. I don’t want to single out any one of the resort staff at the resort because they all did an excellent job with big smiles on their faces. The nighttime entertainment was great and the female staff did a nice job of creating excitement for the Toga and PJ parties. We had a pretty good turnout in the disco and most of the attendees were naturally the "au natural" guests. Both of these parties that we attended carried on into the wee hours of the morning and we called for room service around the large nude hot tub. Love those lamb chops, French fries and cocktails around the large nude hot tub at 2:00 AM.

While we did not actively participate in the daily trivia games around the nude pool or nude volleyball in the pool, yet they were all well attended. We enjoyed the pool staff and guests in the afternoon when the wind came up on the beach.

Braco Au Natural Guests:

We had never been to an all inclusive au natural resort – first time. My husband and I have only enjoyed a "skinny dip" visit at Little Makena on Maui in Hawaii and a topless sundeck at a favorite spa resort we go to in Big Sur, California.

I expressed to my husband that I was a bit nervous about going to Braco because I had thoughts of it being a "swinger’s atmosphere". He expressed some of our concerns on this board before our trip. What I found that there was no lewd behavior and after the first full day, it was completely easy for me to stroll around in my birthday suit. It was also very easy for my husband too.

We both found all the guests we met on the au natural side of the resort to be very warm, gracious and pleasant people. We met doctors, lawyers, nurses, bankers, developers, contractors, realtors, a film producer, and folks from all walks of life back home. We enjoyed ourselves amongst these au natural guests. Most of the guests were between 35 and 55 years young with only one elderly cute couple in their early 70’s.

To preserve our new Braco friend’s privacy, I will not name all the great people we met but would like to return to Grand Lido Braco with any of them in the future.

Conclusion:

All I can say that my husband and I would both would love to return to Braco next year! We had a great time once we got there. We walked on the beach, we relaxed, we danced and we ate some good food, we watched some great shows and we also had a few cocktails. But most importantly we met some great people. It is definitely a nice place for romance.

Enjoy all the Grand Lido Braco has to offer. Cheers!
