GLB, December 2003

Myra and Leo

We have just returned from 6 days at GLB tanned, relaxed and happy. What more could you want?

This was our first time at GLB and our first time with au naturel. Though I had some anxiety about it before going, we got right into it and it's going to be hard to live textile again.

GLB is by and large user friendly, low key (unless you want it to be otherwise) and comfortable.

Our days consisted of alternating between the lounges by the pool, floats in the pool, lounges on the beach and floats in the sea. One morning of watersports consisted of a trip out on the sunfish (fun) and an attempt at waterskiing which ended with Leo on crutches for a day (and possibly being out from snow skiing for the season, we'll see).

Our evenings were spent visiting the "other side". Two dinners at Piacere were great and we enjoyed the cabaret entertainment. The mustiness in the disco was a turn-off and we were disappointed that more people didn't participate in the karaoke. We would like to see more food served on the au natch side as well as some evening activities and more use of the clubhouse.

The staff was great, most notably Andel, Charlton and Michael who helped Leo with the immediate impact of his injury and Wayne who kept the rum flowing through the following days (medicinally, of course). The guests were also friendly most particularly Allan and Kelly (who kept us partying all the way back to the airport) and a young pair of dentists who got married while we were there.

I spent my last morning at the spa and highly recommend a facial and body scrub before returning home. The service there was as good or better than I have received anywhere.

We are looking forward to returning to Braco as well as trying out Hidden Beach or GLN or Hedo.

Please write if you have any questions.
